The HD-RH1 system operates on 12V and can be powered with a good quality battery pack. Please note that the camera has been designed to withstand spikes in voltage common to fully charged batteries. However, the absolute outside maximum spike the camera can withstand is 22V. Accordingly, batteries that use voltages or spike to voltages above 22V MUST NOT BE USED.
