Iconix Video Introduces HD-RH1 Digital I/O Package and Remote Control System at NAB 2007

Innovative Point-of-View Camera Used in Documentary, Film and Television Projects

Santa Barbara, CA April 10, 2007 – Iconix Video, a leading developer of advanced high-definition camera systems and maker of the world’s smallest professional quality HD video camera, today announced its new HD-RH1 digital I/O package and remote control system. Iconix Video will showcase this latest technology innovation at NAB 2007, April 16-19 from Booth SU11415 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The HD-RH1 incorporates an expansive array of features found only in top-of-the-line HD ENG and EFP camera systems while utilizing an innovative signal processing architecture. This POV camera system, which includes a very robust separate camera head and processing controller unit, is the smallest high performance HD camera in the industry. The lightweight HD-RH1 remote camera system is comprised of a 1.32” x 1.50” x 1.92” POV camera head weighing 2.5 oz.; a 3.5 lb. universal HDTV controller unit measuring 8.4” x 1.8” x 12”; and a power supply, and can be ordered with 3, 6 and 10 meter cables.

Shipping of the HD-RH1 began in December 2006, and over 200 cameras have been sold since then. The HD-RH1 has already been deployed in a number of unique productions, including Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's 13, National Geographic Television’s Planet Carnivore series, and many other documentary, film and television projects. “We are very pleased to be able to introduce the digital I/O package and remote control system upgrades so soon after shipping our first cameras,” says Wayne Upton, CTO, Iconix Video. “The HD-RH1 is a high-performance POV remote camera system that augments and enhances the HD acquisition capabilities of broadcasters and cinematographers alike.

Our new I/O package increases those capabilities with fiber optic outputs and direct camera genlocking, and the remote control panel allows seamless integration with video trucks and other remote set-ups. The potential applications are limitless.”

New HD-RH1 Digital I/O package: As a factory-installed option to the already-versatile HD-RH1, Iconix is adding a new digital I/O package that will include the ability for fiber optic output directly out of the camera, and provide direct camera genlocking via an SDI or fiber optic serial digital source. The new I/O package will be demonstrated at NAB2007, and will be available for purchase with the HD-RH1 in June 2007.
