Could fast, small-guage FILM cameras pave the way for tomorrow's moviemakers?

June, 2007 – Much has changed in the world of motion pictures since the Lumiere brothers introduced their camera-projector, "the cinematographe," in the 1890s. Though the idea of that machine-which means "writing with light and motion"-still forms the foundation of the cinematographic arts, subsequent generations of artists have continued to revolutionize the way we make and view movies today.

Though the feature films Parasomnia, The Dukes, G.I. Jesus and Factory Girl may not seem to have much in commonwith the ever-popular series "CSI" or the Showtime pilot "Californiacation," each project represents an excellent example of a director-cinematographer team using all their available tools in order to render crisp, clean and beautiful imagery.
